First Baptist is a dynamic collection of believers with diverse stories, experience and talent whose hearts have been knit together by a mutual love of Jesus Christ.
Established in 1888, we have enjoyed a long and prosperous life in this small town on the mouth of the Grand River.
We can boast about the faithfulness of God, how He has met our needs through sometimes miraculous means. He has raised up leaders, missionaries and pastors from our midst. He has called us into ministries greater than ourselves in order to glorify His Name.
We passionately believe everyone has a purpose in life and accept our responsibility to equip and encourage people on their faith journey in Christ and with the church.
We believe
- God is Creator. He made it all and He sustains it all.
- The Bible is God’s perfect manual for life.
- Jesus is God revealing Himself.
- The Holy Spirit is God dwelling in us.
- Grace is the only way to have a relationship with God.
